Changes In Education !!!

This image speaks for itself. Education has changed so much in our country that the roles have been invested for teachers. Professors are not only seen as baby-sitters, they are also the direct culprits when the student has bad grades. It is essential for parents to identify tutors as responsible for administering new knowledge to young people and children in institutions, taking into account that it is a primarily family process which continues in schools, fully coordinated between the two throughout the school period.

Do you believe that this image is repeated almost daily in schools today?

  1. Well. unfortunately I do not work for a private or public school. The university setting is quite different. However, the ones who get mad are not parents but students themselves ! I ponder in both cases, the teacher´s role is to provide an assessment that grants a detailed account of his/her performance in a fair way. Students and parents will appreciate teachers who not only assess contents or rules, but worry about others aspects found in the assessment process! The implementation of fair assessment instruments guarantees equity and as the same time are trasparent and valid. (Picón 2013).

  3. Unfortunately it is something that is happening in our educational enters nowaday, since the society and the family have been wrapped in the conformism and debasted formation of the learners , where the teachers have become to be slaves of the processes of teaching and learning in our National territory. Therefore, the parents do not assume the responsibility that they have as first educationalenter to teach and educate their children with good principles and values that are fundamental in the formation of them. For this reason, the authority in the processes carried out within the schools is being lost, because fo parents are not aware that their children have tremendous gaps because they are being complicit with them with respect to these fundamental processes. Mealwhile, failure and empty that their children have is dropping all responsibility and blame on teachers. What a pity?, but it is a great reality.

  4. This image reflects the harsh reality that the teachers live every day when we try to instill responsibility and discipline to the students through the channels of effort and dedication. Unfortunately, some parents take it as a clear example of child maltreatment and children in take advantage of this to avoid their responsibilities.

  5. Although it is true teachers are responsible for giving the best to our students in terms of education, creating and adopting new methodologies seeking to capture their interest and attention, We can not be responsible for the individual results of them. The sense of responsibility is learned in the family in the homes, the school only makes use of that tool to improve the processes. So, Taking into account your comments dear colleagues, I ask you. When was this process changed between parents and teachers? Is this also a STANDARD of current education in Colombia?

    1. Well Julian, I can tell you that the same (image) happens in Venezuela... I do not see it as a standardized issue... the thing is sin the world is getting more demanding and more competitive, parents are giving most of their times to WORK and they have fogotten their roles... Education as some of you has said starts at home... There are soooooo many parents concerned about earning money and I really disagree... We as teachers have the huge responsability to teach human beings to be inserted in a competitive society, and we do this as our passion... In words of Cortina and Conill (2000)profession and vocation must work together, we cannot be good people if we do not carry out in a competent and and honest way the profession we HAVE and the professional we ARE...

  6. Also as we speak in class, now the evaluated are the teachers, because we must satisfy our customers (students and parents) because institutions trade knowledge with the thought of training men for work and not for life.
