FINAL THOUGHTS
Before starting the course, I considered Ethics as a subject with no relevance as part of our subjects in this ESP. All of a sudden, I am discussing the issue with my students and workmates at Universidad de Antioquia. Then I realized it is important, and it is really essential to have this topic in all programs in any educational institute, for students as well as for educators. We will never get a consensus, but the open discussion and points of view do enrich our life and professional perceptions !!

My friend Hernan I support your point of view and the experiences that you are having in your daily work life, where you are putting into practice a fundamental principle as is the ethics, since we know that this is like our inner consciousness that tells us what is better than we should do at a certain point in our personal and professional life as far as our work is concerned. That is why I expressed the same words stated by Mr Wolfensohn wrote to World Bank Group Staff Association, where he said in one part of the letter.Ethics is not a simple set of rules on how to behave. It is a set of principles that we apply to our personal interactions. And, because we face a large number of experiences and we deal across a wide array of cultures, we need to think deeply about how we interact with others. A positive work environment doesn’t just happen; it comes about mainly because we have a desire to contribute to the harmony of our workplace, and consequently we ask ourselves many questions

ResponderEliminarIt's very true, Hernan. Ethics as matter we do not take into account, even when we were students. In that period It was a matter without transcendence. Currently, I believe that it is fundamental, not only for our students, it is even for ourselves. The goal is not to have in our head a series of norms, values, rights and duties. The point is to know how and when to make use of them. Be aware of our actions and think before acting.

ResponderEliminarThis area is only a credit so I thought it was insignificant or the university did it to meet some requirement. However, the knowledge and reflections that have given us this subject to our field of work, are so essential that now I take in to account that first is our ethics As teachers, it allows us to have a wider vision of our contexts and then permit us what we can teach. Thank you colleagues for the collaborative work that we have been developing.
